Credit Suisse has opened a Center of Excellence (CoE) in Wroclaw. This is one of the global key initiatives, with the aim of making better use of the expertise of its employees worldwide and deploying its resources with a high degree of efficiency.
Quantitative Strategies is responsible for modeling, trading analytics, and risk management across the Fixed Income division. Quant Strats consists of five functional groups: Trading Quant Strats, Risk Strats, Architecture and Delivery (AD) and Sales Quant Strats. Primary business lines supported include Interest Rate Products (Rates), Global Foreign Exchange (GFX), Global Credit Products (GCP), Structured Products, Emerging Markets (EMG) and Commodities. Quant Strats has a presence in Hong Kong, London, New York, Singapore, Sao Paulo, Tokyo and Zurich and is embarking on building out a substantive presence at our Credit Suisse office in Wroclaw, Poland.
Quantitative Strategies – Architecture & Delivery (QS AD)
The goal of this team is to build a partnership with the QS Modelers to ensure that QS models are delivered to the firm in the most efficient manner. The QS AD team focuses on mapping out the technology strategy for the group, developing advanced tools to automate and bring efficiency to the group’s development & testing environment, building core analytics, development of state-of-the-art pricing and risk infrastructure, designing innovative tools for rapid model deployment and producing complex components for high performance computing applications.
Key requirements for the role are:
• Familiarity with at least three of the following - web design, database design, software design, software engineering tools, scripting, packaging and deployment, Windows and UNIX O/S.
• A good understanding of .NET and ability to develop software in one or more .NET languages - C#, F#, ASP.NET.
• Familiarity with developing software in C/C++.
What we look for:
• You will have an undergraduate degree with honors in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Physics or have equivalent level commercial experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• A team-player with a positive co-operative attitude
• Good organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Fluency in English
In addition the following would be advantageous:
• Familiarity with COM and / or Excel.
• Knowledge of functional programming and / or experience developing with F#.
• An understanding of commercial software development processes and team development of a complex code base.
• Experience in the finance sector and working in a Front Office environment.
Your role:
The AD Infrastructure team is primarily responsible for defining, implementing and supporting the software engineering processes of the financial modeling group globally. This encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including software configuration management, development tools, automated builds/tests, compute farms and deploying new/updated analytics across the Bank. The team owns a number of in-house 'workflow' applications that support the key processes of the group. In addition they own a mixture of internally developed tools and the configuration/integration of third party applications such as Visual Studio into our processes. The group is at a significant watershed where we are redefining the platforms, tools and processes required to take us forward. This is an opportunity to be part of the decision making process that will define our software development environment and processes for years to come.
The role is to be a developer in the AD Infrastructure team (currently four people in size). It will involve a mix of new development, re-engineering existing tools and processes, support and externally driven project work (IT, Audit). This demanding role involves regular and frequent interaction across AD and the wider modeling group. This, in addition to interfacing with multiple IT groups, necessitates excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
